Gilded Mane Barbershop

A five-chair barbershop in Keene, New Hampshire that had outgrown a social-only presence — and had just moved across town. The site had to look the way the room feels, settle the new address in one authoritative place, and hand every visitor cleanly to the booking system the shop already ran on.

The brief

Established in 2022, the shop had built its reputation on Instagram and word of mouth, and had five master barbers working the floor. Two things forced a real website. Bookings ran through GlossGenius and nobody wanted a second system to keep in sync. And the shop had relocated from Central Square to Washington Street, which meant the address needed one place that both Google and a customer standing on the wrong sidewalk could trust.

What we built

  • A single-scroll brand site that moves the way a decision does: hero, story, services, gallery, team, book, visit.
  • Six named services written in plain language — classic haircut, beard trim and shape, hot towel shave, haircut and beard combo, kids, premium package.
  • Pricing deliberately left in GlossGenius. A number that lives in two places is a number that will eventually be wrong in one of them.
  • A card for every barber. Barbering is a personal-relationship purchase — people book a person, not a shop.
  • A gallery of work that actually came out of these chairs. No stock photography of anyone else’s fade.
  • One action at the end of every path: Book Now, straight into GlossGenius.

How it is set up to be found

  • Full name, address and phone plus a complete hours table in readable page text, not baked into an image where a crawler cannot read it.
  • Keene and New Hampshire used where a real person would write them, not stuffed into every sentence.
  • Image filenames that carry the subject and the town rather than a camera’s serial number.
  • Instagram and Facebook linked so the site, the profiles and the map listing corroborate each other — which is most of what local ranking is.
  • The public email address obfuscated so the shop’s inbox stays off scraper lists.

What the shop runs itself

Services, pricing and availability change in GlossGenius and flow through without a developer touching anything. The site is deliberately small — a handful of sections and three pages — because a small site that is true beats a large one that quietly rots.
